Birthday!

Today is my 15th Birthday. Exciting, huh?

I can now legally attempt my Learners Licence test. If I pass, I may drive a car providing there is a fully licensed driver sitting in the front passenger seat. Swell. I may also view R15 movies. Swell.

So, what was the haps today? Not all that much, actually. Ella's away on her year 9 camp, and I had school, so that, you know, kinda kills all potential "exciting stuff". In saying that though, I got 4 books, some eyeliner, the other half of my phone (heh), a model horse, some chocolate, a French-English dictionary and a Marriage Certificate with Momiji. Thanks guys- y'all rock! :)

And Claire, I love you. That's all.

Yumi

On Saturday our homestay student, Yumi, arrived. It's been great having her so far. We just sort of clicked right away. She's here for a month, leaving 3 days before my birthday.

Speaking of my birthday; for some reason I'm vaguely excited about being 15. I know it's silly, but I am. I don't think it's because then I can drive, because I don't really want to drive just yet. In saying that, I think I will get my learner's licence soonish.

School's started, and I'm doing history instead of Drama due to clashes. I don't really mind; I'm enjoying the class, if not the people *in* the class. Ooh! Mrs Bothwell's Bevan 5 class. Yay!

Rangers started up again on Thursday, but I missed it. I've missed all my Ranger buddies, especially Claire. <3

School Holidays, Kinloch, NCEA and the like

So, I just got back from Kinloch. (Literally, only been back, for like, an hour). It was fun, we had a week there, then a week in Auckland for my Grandad's 70th birthday, and then another week in Kinloch. Unfortunately, my grandma, who owns the bach we stay in at Kinloch, couldn't come up until yesterday. :( So, we didn't get to spend much time with her.

On the up side, NCEA results are OUT! Yay! They were pretty good. I got a merit or excellence for everything, but I don't know if that is because of my performance or because of my derived grades due to me having had "significantly impaired preparation" for the exams because of subacute thyroiditis.

School's back on the 2nd of February. :(

And, I got a haircut, which was exciting. Ella did too, and hers is a rather dramatic change.

Life in general

Well. Hello future Charlotte. So this is sort of like an online diary for you, huh. So... some notes about life on the 10th of December:

1) Today was the Junior Honours Awards. You and Jelena tied for the medal. Are you happy? Still not sure. Content, maybe. Certainly less drama than last year. FAR less embarrassment.

2) Tonight was the Ranger dinner at Pompeii Pizza. I (you) just got back. It was awesome. You ate too much, and for a chunk of the evening had a napkin on your head. Blame Charlotte W. But it was fun, because there was pizza, and of course, friends. Especially Claire. Yay for Claire! Twas fun with her camera and Kristi.

3) I (you) am txting way too much this month. I'm down to about 190 txts... On the 10th... Why is it always December when I send the most?

4) Who would have thought things would be like this with your friends? Thank goodness for God!

5) You have had subacute thyroiditis for almost 6 weeks now. I'm starting to get better, but my energy levels still suck. Thanks again to all my friends, without you guys, I have nearly ZERO energy.

6) You are going now, to have a shower.

7) Merry Christmas!

Sweet Baby James

So I follow this blog called Cake Wrecks, right? Well, a couple of weeks ago, I was going through some of the old posts seeing as I'm a relative newcomer. And I found a link to www.sweetbabyjames.info . Well. If you read this post, go there and read it.

Honestly, James has had a profound impact on me. I can't get the cute lil guy out of my head. (Oh and Valor and Dora- read it and you'll find out but for Valor you'll need to go to wwww.houseofgjertsen.info )

*sigh*

Holiday in Taupo

Hey Y'all (or Jelena) :)

So I just got back for my holiday in Kinloch, which is a little village-y place about 20 mins out of Taupo. We went 'cos we have a Tahitian exchange student and she'd never touched snow before. Amongst other things, we went up Mt. Ruapehu and went tobogganing. Yay! 'Twas fun.
When we were driving back to Palmy, in was snowing on the Desert Road. That was pretty cool. I'd never driven when it was snowing before.

And now I'm home. Our friend Elliott's coming down from Auckland today, and tomorrow we spending the day in Wellington.

The holidays are going too fast...

In Sickness and in Health

If I ever get married, my husband (at this rate) is going to spend more time with me being sick, than healthy. As well as shingles, I now have a cold :( My attendance rate at school has now gone below dreadful into the... Well, shucks. It's just so bad it don't have a name.
Also, in case anyone was wondering, 10CK didn't win the tie prize :(

Gang show OTOH was great. It went really well, and I succeeded in not forgetting my lines as the narrator in Jack and the Beanstalk. I was a Can Can Dancer, amongst other things, and we got to flash our butts. Hooray?
